Twenty-one chapters, each one a philosophy you can pick up and carry. I trace every idea to its root, anchor it to a thinker who lived it, set it against the confusion we are in right now, and then answer it. Written in Kiswahili and English, the way I speak.
A book about building a philosophy you can live by
Most people are running on a philosophy they never chose. It arrived from family, from school, from whatever the crowd was saying that year. It runs quietly in the background and it decides how the money is handled, how the work is treated, how the hard seasons are survived. When it is a bad one, life goes badly and the person never traces it back.

The subjects are not abstract: work, money, resilience, freedom, solidarity, vision, happiness. Chapter twelve is about turning what little you have into wealth without betting on a miracle. Chapter twenty is about why none of it works alone.
The manuscript was reviewed by Bishop Bernadin Mfumbusa, and I will say it plainly: Without him, and his help reviewing and passing through my ideas, I would not have written my book.

Philosophy was locked in the seminary
I studied philosophy for years in formation. Then I looked at who else was allowed to.
I noticed that in the life we are living in the world right now, many people are in confusion about many things. They are searching to know the truth of things, and in the middle of it they cannot tell which to hold on to and which to let go.
There is only one subject that gives proper answers to what we ought to actually do, and that subject is philosophy. Unfortunately, in the African setting, philosophy is taught almost entirely to us — the fraters who are becoming priests. Everyone else has neither the availability nor the means to study it.
So after those years of studying it, I saw that I should come with a book that would help ordinary people. Especially young people, and everyone searching for direction and truth in life, so they can know a little of how things are supposed to go in this world.

Three questions
Philosophy, put shortly, answers three great questions. Those three are what this book is built on.

What is reality?
Nini ni uhalisia?
What is the true world, and who is the true God? We live in a world that confuses us. We do not know which God to follow — there are so many religions, and every day we hear another. And it confuses us about what a human being is. A person has become complex to understand: they appear one way, and behind the scenes they are someone else. Confusion.

How can we know?
Tunawezaje kujua?
Most of us want to know things — and not merely to know, but to know the truth of them. How do we get there? Philosophy is itself the study of critical thinking, so it helps us learn how to know things properly. We want to know, but in the middle of it we struggle with what a good way to learn even looks like.

How should we live?
Tunawezaje kuishi?
The question of morality. Having established what is real and how we can know it, the last question is the one you actually have to answer every day: how should a person live in a world like this one?
